Quote of the Month

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy

Grateful for the opportunity to guide a growing nation, John F. Kennedy chose to lead the United States into the future with decisive action. He took measurable steps to support his words, creating a lasting impact on the country. Actions included the proposed Civil Rights Act of 1963, successful space exploration missions, and so much more.

Though individuals might not have the reach to create a global impact like Kennedy, we can positively affect the day-to-day lives of our clients, co-workers, and communities by supporting our words and thoughts of gratitude with action. Here are a few ideas to help you live by your words:

  1. Create a hand-written note to express your thanks.
  2. Reciprocate actions of support and offer your time or skills.
  3. Give a special gift or token of your appreciation.
  4. Express gratitude with face-to-face interactions.
  5. Perform an act of kindness (random or intentional).
  6. Offer a listening ear and attend to a person’s needs.
