Horizon Helps at Hope Walk in Oracle
The Hope Walk is an annual event in Oracle, Arizona intended to raise awareness about bullying and drugs. Students in grades K-8 gather in teams to raise donations and walk down American Avenue. Local police officers help with traffic and escort the children on their walk. Various local businesses and organizations sponsor teams by providing drinks, snacks, and swag. This year’s walk took place October 7, 2022.
Horizon employee Alexus Sanchez is active in the Oracle Elementary PTO and suggested Horizon sponsor a team. Horizon Health and Wellness sponsored fifty first graders with drinks, snacks, tote bags, stress hearts, and pop-it keychains. Veronica Ellis, Alexus Sanchez, Elizabeth Garcia, and George Hoyt helped make this event a success. Veronica states that this is a traditional event and remembers her own children participating in past years. This is the first year Horizon has sponsored a team and we hope to continue to do so each year!
