class=\"s1\">Horizon\u2019s Recovery Village Substance Use Residential Treatment Center in Casa Grande is proud of the success of many of our current and previous patients. We would like to share a recent personal recovery journey of one of our patients that our team is proud to have supported.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Horizon\u2019s Recovery Village received a referral from Terros Health and Arizona Department <\/span><span class=\"s2\">of Child Safety<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> (DCS). The referral was a 29-year-old single, white female, diagnosed with amphetamine use disorder and hypothyroidism. She had been addicted to amphetamines since she was 13 years old. This was her second involvement with DCS and her children had been taken into DCS custody. She was homeless and had been staying with others.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Historically, she struggled with attending appointments on time, or not showing up at all, so we were happy to see her arrive that day, but she was 4 hours late and we had to send her away. She agreed to arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. the next day.\u00a0She arrived to our facility twenty minutes early the very next day.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-71fc74a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"71fc74a\" class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upon her arrival, we were able to complete her intake and start her services.&nbsp;That afternoon, we were touching base with her and found that she had a major wound in her abdomen. When asked, she shared with us that she had fallen on a screwdriver.&nbsp;We immediately transported her to receive medical care. When she came back to our Residential Treatment Center, she opened up and told us that she had not been honest with us previously. She explained that while staying with her partner, he stabbed her with the screwdriver.&nbsp;She started opening up about her experiences as a victim of domestic violence, growing up in a home with domestic violence and how living this way was the only life she had known.&nbsp;She realized that this generational culture was not something that she wanted her children to experience, and things had to change.&nbsp;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-ff90d12 );\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This individual continued to work her program and participate in treatment throughout the duration of her stay. She also requested an extension and continued to work hard. Upon completion of Residential Treatment, she entered the Arizona Women\u2019s Recovery Center and completed an additional 90-day program.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She is nearing the one year mark of staying clean and sober.&nbsp;Her children are reunited with her in stable housing.&nbsp; She is working on obtaining her fingerprint clearance card and is enrolled in school.&nbsp;Having recently completed her peer support training, her goal is to work in substance use residential treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She is amazing!&nbsp;She comes by often to give us updates and the glow she has as a result of her hard work is a testament to the reason why we do what we do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">The staff at Horizon\u2019s Recovery Village is incredible.
